Job Description

GEICO is looking for an engineering technician to perform various types of general building and grounds maintenance at our Woodbury office. Duties to include general construction, plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Candidates must be detailed oriented and work effectively amidst rapid change in a fast paced environment. Qualified candidates must be able to interact with associates, members of management and outside vendors. Job requires snow removal, climbing ladders, operating lift equipment and lifting/carrying loads of 50lbs.

Schedule: M-F 8am to 4:30pm - All candidates must be flexible in their schedule including nights and weekends. Candidates must be available to respond to emergencies outside of normal hours. Schedule is subject to change based upon business needs.

Salary: $19.46 / hour

Qualifications :

  • Familiar with A/C mechanical, electrical equipment and system operations

  • PC Skills

  • Reading/writing and utilizing technical manuals and drawings

  • familiar with electrical distribution systems, HVAC mechanical systems and plumbing systems

  • Experience in general construction including wall construction and finishing

  • Experience with work request systems including updating maintenance schedule

  • Monitoring energy management system

  • Operating stand by generator power and Uninterrupted power supply (UPS) system

  • Handling internal work orders, modular furniture re-configurations and meeting room set ups

  • Lifting and Standing
