The Merck Research Laboratories Quality Assurance Good Laboratory Practices group provides GLP regulatory and Quality oversight including advice to our Toxicology and in house regulated bioanalytical & clinical vaccine laboratory functions. Collaborate with scientific stakeholders to assure the new product development research meets global Health Authority expectations for new drug approvals.

The intern position within MRLQA GLP would be involved with aspects of supporting activities related to preclinical area submission timelines in compliance with appropriate government regulations, company policies and departmental SOPs particularly in the area of quality metrics. Work is primarily achieved by individual or through teams with guidance. The intern will also have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the drug development phases through the support activities

This is a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.

Education:

Required: Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate biology or chemistry degree program.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates must have completed at least (2) years of study by June of 2019

  • Candidates must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Candidates must have initiative, leadership and ownership of deliverables

  • Candidates must have strong organizational skills

  • Candidatesmust have had exposure to animal models or physiology in Biology classes

Preferred Experience andSkills:

  • Candidates shouldhave project management skills
