Title: Machine OperatorMolex is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to operate machine(s) at the required productivity levels. The (19) machines include: ABC Banks, Avikrimp Paragon, Auto Tape, Avikrimp Butts, Basic Tape Setup, Bullets, Buttsplice, Couplers, Extruder, Flags, Insulkrimp Paragon, Large Lugs, Molding Operator, NC Bank, Permaseal Butts and Setup, PIQD, QC, Windowbutt, and Wiretap. Essential Functions: Operator will be required to be trained and be capable of operating all above referenced operations in the departments so that work is performed effectively and to Molex’s performance and quality standardsAbility to use basic hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, picks, etc.Operator will be required to cross-train and rotate between departments as customer demands requireTroubleshoot and fix simple to moderate common machine and sensor problems without the help of a mechanicPackage and label finished products into the proper containers. This could require operator to print out the customer specific labels from a desktop computerOrder materials to keep machines stocked with necessary parts and perform all material changeoversPerform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and divisionPerform various measuring and recordkeeping inspection procedures. We are currently building our in house Engineering Internship staff and are looking for a talented Engineering Assistant to join our team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with highly dedicated professionals at Molex assisting the engineering department with coordinating, building, documenting and inventory of test samples, test requests; and initial sample preparations for EV, DV, and PV level testing. You will be a back-up crimp operator and perform standard testing on Molex products for reliability prior to their release and also to perform annual validation testing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Maintains engineering inventory system, including: verification and documentation of incoming materials, daily quantity and content updates to inventory report, documenting and pulling inventory for sample requests, and tracking time usage by program and request.

2.Identifies and communicates to appropriate engineer any form, fit, and function anomalies found with incoming materials or during sample builds.

3.Aids in the development and continuous improvement of procedures for sample preparation,

test set-up, and testing.

4.Aids in advanced planning and coordinating of materials acquisition and test sample builds.

5.Aids in retrieving historical and traceability information for sample requests, specific builds, and inventoried materials .

6.Oversees additional personnel when required for large sample builds and emergencies.

7.Back-up operator for crimping operation, supports crimp requests during absence of primary operator and as needed for work overflow.

8.

Sets up and operates standard and custom test equipment and chambers. Includes equipment such as microscopes, Instron type force equipment, various electrical parameter measuring devices, temperature/humidity chambers, etc.

9.Set up test boards and samples for electrical and environmental tests.

10.Perform mechanical tests (e.g. insertion/extraction).

11.Assist in resolving test problems, when necessary.

12.Communicate with Product Engineer on testing issues.

13.Understand, support, and contribute to Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Quality (QS9000), and Environmental Management (ISO14000) Systems by following approved policies and procedures.

14.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Two (2) years of college training in a technical field, or equivalent work experience in a technical field.

WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years manufacturing and/or quality experience in automotive.

    SKILLS:

  • Ability to quickly identify and detect common defects in molded/stamped connector components.

Preferred:

  • Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office, strong mathematical background
