Job Description

The Global Packaging Procurement Team is looking for a 3rd/4th year Bachelor/Master student who is eager to learn, lead and has affinity to work in the fast moving 'world' of Kraft Heinz Company.

Responsibilities and main activities:

We are looking for a Bachelor/Master student who is interested in a 6-months internship in the Global Procurement department in Amsterdam.

The purpose of the role is to lead various strategic and global projects and support the Team of Global Category Leads responsible for the procurement of the following Packaging categories: flexible and rigid resins, thermoform / casings, cartons, corrugated and labels, metal and glass. The packaging portfolio for KHC covers everything from ketchup to cordials, mayonnaise to baby food packaging.

The key activities of the applicant are:

Introduction in purchasing: lead strategic industry benchmark and/or negotiation

Consisting of; raw material and vendor analysis/benchmark, analysis of pricing models with various global, regional and local suppliers, negotiation strategy and implementation

Ensure productivity savings, vendor relationship management, supply continuity and where possible set up contractual frameworks

Support Global Packaging Team’s Global Category Leads (“GCL”) in following activities:

Value Engineering – support implementation of global value engineering projects. Demonstrate leadership, stakeholder engagement, learn how to deliver a whole project on time and accurately

Project management – working with GCLs in order to identify opportunities and drive them through different project stages (i.e. industry analysis, NDA, tender, negotiation, supplier meetings, cross-functional meetings) until successful completion of such project

Day to Day portfolio management – supporting GCLs on day to day portfolio management with activities (e.g. supplier queries, management and financial reporting)

Tenders & e-sourcing – working closely with GCLs in order to launch RFI, RFP, RFQ & e-auctions

Data Management – purchasing data management (e.g. contracts, pricing, and raw material evolution) which will require global cross-function alignment

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Notice that for all intern positions we only hire candidates that are currently registered as a student.

For students without EU citizenship - You need to be currently studying in the Netherlands.

  • The internship must be a mandatory part of your study, and your study institution needs to approve the internship (signing an agreement).

  • Applicant must be in the final stage (3rd/4th year of study) of a Bachelors or Masters study in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain or Finance

  • Strong analytical capability and advanced MS Excel knowledge, ideally with financial modelling experience

  • Strong critical reasoning and problem-solving skills

  • Self-starter, able to accomplish tasks on own initiative

  • A commercial mind-set

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong verbal and written business English

  • Good / Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office)

  • Interest in pursuing a career in Procurement/Purchasing is desired, but not essential
