Job Description

Through this position, you will have the opportunity to explore the day-to-day Global Procurement functions, participate in a variety of projects and experience the Sea Freight function in one of the largest food companies in the world exploring every area within this department.

Main responsibility - Support and work with the Global Sea Freight team responsible for the procurement of all Sea Freight.

The internship is primarily focused at developing skills and gaining work experience and not for writing an academic thesis.

The key activities are:

  • Data maintenance – Sea Freight database maintenance, manage the input of contracts in the system, updates of procurement scorecard and financial risk assessment of suppliers

  • Redefine and build supply analysis, vendor research and savings reports – Import and export data analysis, specification comparison, contract balance management/notification, market analysis, assist on financial reporting

  • Project support – support with portfolio tenders, preparation of contractual paperwork, follow up on supplier signing contracts, loading / entering contracts into systems, vendor contact and negotiation support, project management support

  • Proactively manage end-to-end spot requests processes

  • Support day-to-day administrative duties

Job requirements

  • Bachelor/Master (final stage) student with affection for Procurement - Econometrics and/or Business Administration

  • Have demonstrated use of analytical and problem solving/critical thinking skills

  • Comfortable working under pressure/tight deadlines – Able to prioritize

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills – Self-starter

  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite of products including Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook for email, calendar, contacts, scheduling and task management required

  • Have excellent organizational skills, keen eye for attention to detail, and proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic and sense of confidentiality

  • Business English (Advance) – Portuguese and/or Spanish (Preferred)
