What you’ll do:
• Position Title: Systems Administrator Intern
• Location: Vancouver, Canada
• Expected start date to end date: September 4, 2018 - May 3, 2019
Purpose & Objective of Position
As a member of the Engineering Services team within the Products & Innovation group, the candidate’s mission will be to work closely with SAP development users worldwide to ensure the provisioning, administration and support of Windows, Unix and Linux systems and world-class services to our internal customers.
Expectations & Tasks
Candidates are expected to bring excellent enthusiasm, communication skills, and a willingness to learn. As we are customer focused, these are all very important. Candidates will also have the opportunity to work with one of the largest private data centers in Western Canada learning about blade server technology, networking, NAS/SAN, virtualization and data centre management.

Skills / Competencies
Customer support skills
General experience using operating systems: Windows, Linux (RedHat/Suse), AIX, Solaris, VMware ESXi.
Windows and Linux installation and basic service configuration
Basic scripting on Windows and/or Linux (Shell, Perl, Python)
Basic understanding of authentication and security protocols (LDAP, SSL, TLS, users and groups)
General hardware knowledge and hands-on experience
Project management and source code management (bug tracking, JIRA, git)
Time and priority management skills
Policy and procedure documentation skills
Requires candidates to currently be enrolled in an undergraduate, Masters, MBA or PhD degree program which is applicable to the position.
