As Head of Talent Acquisition, you will build an exceptional recruiting organization that will enable Alector to scale and build our brand as a premier employer. You will define and lead our talent strategy to improve our recruiting processes. You will apply your existing leadership and collaborative skills to play a key role to guide the direction of our recruiting team. As a leader early on, you’ll be influential in championing and developing Alector’s culture.

During the first year, your goals will include:

  • Growing and leading the talent team as we scale

  • Strengthening our brand and elevating our visibility as an employer

  • Managing our portfolio of open roles with evolving prioritization

  • Designing and implementing scalable processes, tools, systems, and trainings necessary to support the talent function

  • Building strong partnerships with hiring managers, senior leaders, executives, and critical partners to understand their talent needs

  • Ensuring recruiting efforts are providing high-quality, diverse candidate pipelines for open roles through various channels (e.g., employee referrals, sourced candidates, active applicants)

  • Leading contingent and retained searches for executive-level roles

  • Overseeing the offer approval process, considering market benchmark data to guide compensation packages

  • Expanding the reach and impact of recruiting efforts through new programs and initiatives (e.g., summer internship program, university relations)

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • You have at least 8+years of progressive recruiting experience with 5+ years in a people leadership role

  • You demonstrate a successful track record of building and overseeing the recruiting function at a rapidly growing biotech company

  • You take pride in constructing recruiting strategy, relying on sound metrics, and fostering trust

  • You desire to continuously improve the candidate experience

  • You possess deep expertise in applicant tracking platforms and leverage data in recruiting efforts (e.g., sourcing)

  • You have a point of view but are low ego
