MECHANICAL ENGINEER Location: Seattle, Washington Position Summary: DLR Group's Building Performance Analyst will assist in designing high-performance buildings through thermal comfort and energy modeling simulation and analysis. Job Duties: DLR Group's Mechanical Engineer in the Seattle office will manage all aspects of mechanical engineering project document development, with guidance from the Project Manager or more senior Project Engineers, and coordinate with project team members to produce quality work products while adhering to project schedules. Specific duties include:: Identifying and proposing technical solutions to mechanical engineering design challenges; Providing technical feedback in the conceptual development of project documents; Producing accurate documents aligned with firm standards for project assignments; Applying practice standards to project assignments; Communicating progress of assignments according to established project schedule and work plan; Ensuring project information is incorporated into project documents; Developing a work product within the model as set-up by the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Manager; Comparing the project program and goals against the product development for alignment; Reviewing and using the project work plan to manage work product; Utilizing code research in the development of technical solutions; Collaborating with the Project Manager to support client needs and maintain the financial health of projects; and Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field. 6 months' work or internship experience in mechanical engineering. Experience must include experience in each of the following (experience may have been gained concurrently): Revit MEP; Ductulator; AutoCAD; Drafting MEP drawings; Modeling 3D mechanical systems, including AHUs, ducts, and pipes; and Calculating building loads.
