Program Overview:

This position is part of Southern California Edison’s (SCE) University and Campus Relations Internship Program. The Summer Internship program is a 10-12 week paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience with challenging work, while developing your skills, and building your network. The Summer Internship has an estimated start date of May/June 2019 and an estimated end date of August/September 2019. SCE offers these programs with the belief that learning and development are important parts of building future leaders. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in intern mixers, executive speaker series, site tours, community volunteer events, intern project expo, and cross-company networking.

About Distribution:

Distribution is comprised of the Distribution Construction & Maintenance (DC&M), Distribution Resource Planning & Project Management (DC&M RPPM), and Central Design & Field Accounting (CD&FA) groups. In addition to designing, constructing, and maintaining the electric distribution system, Distribution accurately and compliantly capitalizes plant assets into our rate base. Distribution handles assets of approximately $11.2 billion in current assets, and will lead the construction and ultimate maintenance and operation of an additional $5.8 billion in distribution assets over the next five years.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Gathers data, documents, analyzes, and draws conclusions from it to create and edit reports. Completes the E1P1 & E1P2 reports, Daily Cancelled/Rescheduled Outage Report, Abnormal Report, Streetlight Report, and DIMP & CHO Report.

  • Research and Analyze anomalies regarding work orders i.e. capital vs. function work. Schedules MSRs to meter & service crews ensuring productivity and processing all paperwork accordingly.

  • Inputs data into various spread sheets.

  • Reviews invoices; analyzing data; tracking and trending performance.

  • Inputting data and tracking all work orders into Design Manager (DM), Click Schedule, and SAP data bases.

  • Generating reports, cross validating and preparing work orders for contract and Edison personnel.

  • Developing and maintaining schedules.

  • Supporting other analysts (in their absence).

  • Maintaining records and producing reports on scheduled vs. actual work completion dates, crew utilization, as well as other measures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business or closely related field at an accredited institution with a graduation date of December 2019 or later.

Preferred Skills:

  • Preferred GPA of 2.8 or higher

  • Advanced Excel

  • Analytical Skills
