National University Credential Program Specialist I in San Diego - Scripps Ranch Campus, California

It is the responsibility of the Credential Program Specialist to provide information to students regarding National University and California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) requirements in order to obtain a California teaching credential. This is an entry-level role.

The ideal candidate is an expert multitasker who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. They are confident in their interpersonal and public speaking skills, and are passionate about helping others.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to current and prospective students with pertinent information regarding obtaining all necessary documents of the credentialing process

  • Communicate and advise students on a regular basis by phone, appointments, email, walk-ins, receive and relay messages, handle requests for information and assistance

  • Establish and maintain database and student files

  • Review, analyze and evaluate transcripts and other records for various types of verifications (i.e. U.S. Constitution, CL469/CL839 eligibility, internship program eligibility, supplementary authorizations, and proctor exit exams)

  • Conduct exit interviews, ensuring all university and CCTC requirements have been met

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to resolve complex student problems

  • Identify and determine eligibility for student teaching and fieldwork

  • Organize, schedule and facilitate student teaching screening interviews and student teaching orientations between students and faculty member

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, relevant experience

  • One (1) year of customer service is required

  • One (1) year of office experience is required

  • Education work experience is preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Powerpoint)

  • Must be able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and keep track of status

  • Must be highly organized in a fast-paced environment

  • Possess a working knowledge in the education field preferred
