About the Corporate Finance Organizational Unit:
This position will be in the Controller’s division within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Corporate Finance Organization. Corporate Finance provides financial services to Southern California Edison and Edison International. This area provides the information you need to understand our goals, the services we provide, how we are organized, and who to contact with questions. Finance works with its business partners to understand their business requirements and utilizes the functional expertise of its people, its resources and its processes to deliver solutions to meet those requirements. The organization acts as a steward to do what is best for the company, ensuring that SCE meets or exceeds the sustainability, safety and compliance standards set by the corporation. Finance delivers efficient, reliable solutions through its 6 operating departments.
This position is part of Southern California Edison’s (SCE) University and Campus Relations Internship Program. The Summer Internship program is a 10-12 week paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience with meaningful work, while developing your skills, and building your network. The internship has an estimated start date of May/June 2018 and an estimated end date of August/September 2018.
SCE offers these programs with the belief that learning and development are important parts of building future leaders. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in intern mixers, executive speaker series, site tours, community volunteer events, and cross-company networking.

The successful candidate will provide analytical and transaction support for the accounting activities in the group. The intern will be working on Robotic Process Automation (RPA) projects using various applications/tools to automate manual, error-prone, rules-based, and repetitive tasks across all of Controller's. The successful candidate will perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Must currently be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or Finance/Economics with a minor in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Computer Science with a minor in Finance or related field at an accredited institution with a graduation date of December 2018 or later.
Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher as determined by your current academic institution.
Must be currently a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in current academic status.
Knowledge of and experience working with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards and principles.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to build interpersonal relationships with clients, peers and management.
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering presenting recommendations/results on performed analyses.
Demonstrated experience analyzing accounting or financial data and generating reports.
Demonstrated experience balancing and organizing multiple assignments and participating on project teams.
Ability to work with confidential information and maintain appropriate confidentiality levels.
Reliability with a strong desire to learn.
Strong resource and project planning skills, results delivery, ethics and leadership skills.
Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
