The Dow Chemical Companyhas an exciting opportunity for aProduction Engineer and Improvement EngineerinRancho Cucamonga, California. The purpose of this position is to safely, maximize the utilization of plant assets and resources to meet Business and Customer needs. This position is viewed as an entry to mid-level production, process, and technology, engineer for the Manufacturing site.
Primary Responsibilities: *
Lead by example in the use of Life Critical Standards, Safe Work Practices and Behavior Based Safety.
Establish and set targets for improved batch cycle times.
Assists with development and improvement of manufacturing processes and associated Operating disciplines
The position is for both run plant and Improvement engineer responsibilities and support for the Rancho Polyurethane Systems production facility.
Assist manufacturing team with identification, evaluation, and prioritization of resources needs: Maintenance and reliability expenditures, capital improvement, and process improvement.
Works closely with Production Leader, Operations leader, and operations staff
Acts as a support engineer for improvement projects for Manufacturing in alignment with Business, Site, and Company goals utilizing standard technology, evaluation, management tools and processes.
Monitors and communicates performance issues, recognition opportunities, and development and training needs and desires of Dow employees to the Operations and Manufacturing Leaders.
Support implementation of applicable Global Work Processes and Tools.
Lead Root Cause Investigations for Manufacturing-related production, Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and quality failures in responsible areas. Follow up on corrective actions to ensure effectiveness.
Mentor other technicians on site including Maintenance and Production techs.
Able to perform process engineering calculations on process containing equipment and pump sizing, exchanger design, etc.
Work closely with the Technology Center to close internal and external technology and safety gaps per the site project technology plan.
Update plant Piping and Instrument Diagrams ( P&IDs) per project changes and ensure P&IDs are up to date.

Required Qualifications: *
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Manufacturing experience either as core job or internship
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Degree discipline in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
2-5 years of manufacturing experience
