WSP is currently seeking an exceptional candidate for a Civil Engineering Intern for our Raleigh, NC office for the summer of 2019, with the possibility of part time work during the school year.

This opportunity is available for a college student in good standing working towards a degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering within an accredited program. The candidate will gain experience in transportation projects, including highway planning and design, multimodal improvements, bus rapid transit improvements, and bridge projects under direct supervision of the firm's leading civil engineering professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to the development of conceptual transportation projects

  • Perform standard computations and analysis and research assignments

  • Support preparation of final design plans, cost estimates and special provisions

  • Collect data and gather information or documents

  • Attend design meetings and coordinate with team members

Job Requirements

  • CURRENT standing as a Junior/Senior student actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering (or related) Undergraduate or Graduate Program.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products

  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Local candidates preferred. Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.

  • At least three months of previous internship experience

  • Experience with one or more CADD platforms
