Mathematica Pricing Associate in Princeton, New Jersey

Position Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and self-starting Pricing Associate to join the proposal support team in our Princeton, NJ or Washington, DC office. As an integral member of the team, you will play an important role in carrying out its mission of ensuring production of high quality proposals that contributes to Mathematica’s success in engaging meaningful work. To that end, we are looking for someone who is ready to take on the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare business proposals for government and private sector clients

  • Construct different types of budget presentations in Microsoft Excel that may involve advanced formulas to meet various clients’ requirements

  • Review and revise budgets to ensure accuracy and that all costs are accounted for

  • Collaborate with the proposal director and key proposal team members on various aspects of pricing/budgeting as well as business/cost proposal preparation

  • Communicate with prospective subcontractors to ensure timely receipt of accurate and complete business proposal information

  • Facilitate final assembly, production, and delivery of proposals

  • Assist with writing responses to clients’ questions

  • Assist with developing and implementing the proposal support team’s strategic initiatives

  • May research and provide pertinent background materials on procurements for senior management to make informed decisions on bidding strategies

  • May develop project schedules via Microsoft Project

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, liberal arts, or related field

  • Demonstrated experience using the Excel application in preparing budgets and/or manipulating data

  • At least one year of work and/or internship experience in an office environment preferred

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project a plus

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • The ability to handle multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadline pressure

  • The ability to work independently for long periods of time

  • The flexibility to work overtime as needed
