Install measurement equipment into development vehicles, including mechanical and electrical integration. Sensor alignment, SW flash, system integration tasks (diagnostics, measurement recording), wiring, troubleshooting,
Develop Pin-out sheet / 2-D harness Drawing of DAQ/Sensor wiring layouts with relevant software e.g. Harnware, Visio, Excel based on Block Diagrams and Component specs.
Install and debug automotive ECU's and sensors such as Video, Ultrasonic and Radar sensors
Verification of driver assistance alignment stations at customer manufacturing plants. This may require the flexibility to work on weekends at different plant locations in the US/Canada/ South America (4-8 weekends per year)
Build, troubleshoot, and repair test boxes and wiring harnesses. Coordinate with suppliers to have test boxes manufactured. Manage endurance run vehicles, work with external company executing endurance run, ensure flawless endurance run execution. Build and improve test platforms like collision targets for the test of emergency brake systems.
Maintain inventory, track calibration of equipment (order lab supplies, calibration, SW licenses, consumable items etc.)
Support team for sample management and re-flash activities and Continuous Improvement process.
Perform system validation testing and endurance run data collection on Driver Assistance Systems, including Park Pilot, Adaptive Cruise Control, Predictive Emergency Braking, and Lane Departure Warning systems and other advanced driver assistance functions. This involves frequent driving according to a test procedure on public roads and test tracks. Create detailed documentation of test results including measurement traces and support test trips with application engineers (up to 4 weeks per year).
Two-year technical degree.
Minimum 5 years related technician experience.
Mechanical skills, e.g. Light mechanical skills (drop fascias for sensor access, etc.), Wiring/soldering skills (building up harnesses and test boxes), Light fabrication skills (machine shop) preferred.
Experience in mechanical and electrical fabrication or related experience
Experience with Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook (may include direct work experience or internship experience)
Experience with automotive electronic systems or electronic hardware.
Experience with the Commercial On-Highway and Off-Highway Vehicle markets.
Able and willing to travel.
Motivated, flexible, and eager to learn - Ability to complete tasks with little supervision- good communicator that works effectively with application engineers and customers
Familiar with vehicle electronic architecture and controls - Experience with automotive measurement tools (e.g. CANape, CANalzyer)
Experience with collecting data in test vehicles using specified test procedures/maneuvers. Able to reproduce results consistently. Bosch test track certification a plus.
