This position is for Drive Automotive, a division of Cosma International, which is one of the world‘s premier global automotive suppliers providing a comprehensive range of body, chassis, and engineering solutions to our customers. Drive Automotive is a heavy stamping facility located in Piedmont, SC. It is approximately one million square feet, employing approximately 1,000 associates.
Work together as a team to develop skills through a learning process while assisting the Assembly Department on all related functions. Responsible for performing tasks including data collection, analyses and suggesting feasible improvement ideas.
Follow all plant safety policies and procedures.
Understand and promote Magna’s philosophies and the Employee’s Charter.
Understand the working principle of Assembly Operations.
Apply learned engineering skills and disciplines in the evaluation of the continuous improvement process.
Collection and compilation of data related to Safety, Quality, Reliability and Productivity.

Ability to create, modify and/or improve Work Instructions and Procedures.
Must be able to positively communicate and coach any improvements and/or changes needed to the team members involved.

Education and/or Experience Must be pursuing a Bachelors/Master’s degree in Automotive/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering. GPA 3.0 or higher. Computer skills, data collection and analyzing skills; good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.

Must be able to stand 8+ hours a day. Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibrations and loud noises.
Able to work and/or rotate Shifts if needed, (examples: Monitor projects, complete tasks and/or enhance communication channels, etc...)
Systems for Laser Welding – Review documentation and strengthen controls for corrections/adjustments. Work with experts on trials for changes needed for current issues. Develop matrix of issues
Laser Brazing controls – Learn and understand current system/control plan. Make recommendations of how to better control and monitor quality. Then implement the chosen processes.
Plan for every Part (PFEP) – Update, analyze, and complete the plan for every part for programs that are currently launching.
Lab work – Provide support to the supplier quality lab to do cross sections, tensile test, and microscopic evaluations. Create reports to document findings. Support customer issue investigations through these laboratory techniques.
Process Engineering of material movement throughout the plant.
