This opportunity will ask a student to perform the following job duties:
Design Intern (1601975): Designers consider themselves the top of the Engineering food chain. Typically specializing early in some form of design (Analog, Digital, RF etc.) you are expected to work with senior mentor engineers to understand the requirements of a new design, and then formulate an architecture and test strategy, analyze it, and finally design and simulate It using advanced design software. You may work with test and applications engineers to characterize the device once silicon is available. All of this effort is to get that magic “first time right” design. You will learn valuable fundamentals and may work on your own or within a team of designers on complex projects.
Device simulation using TCAD tools for Si/SiC discrete power devices specially rectifier and MOSFET devices.
Design and layout of discrete devices using mentor/cadence tools.
Electrical Characterization and data analysis of discrete products/devices.
Develop and work on new IP development (Patents and research papers)
In order to be considered for an internship, you must be a student currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering the following semester.
Pursuing a MS or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering
Good understanding of device physics and semiconductors. Formal course work in discrete devices is a plus.
Preferred candidate should have experience in research and publishing papers.
Good understanding of power electronics is preferred.
