HealthFitness has a great new opportunity for a full-time (40 hours per week) Fitness Program Coordinator at our client site located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! In this position, you will be responsible for the development, planning, coordination, marketing and implementation of designated health and fitness programs and events, maximizing participation and engagement. You will also manage program delivery process and teams, ensure all staff are properly trained, monitor quality and reports on program outcomes. You may also participate in program delivery and perform other staff responsibilities such as instructing group exercise classes; personal training; conducting fitness tests, exercise prescriptions, and orientations; and fitness floor coverage and facility oversight.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage the remote HIP needs for multiple client locations, remote applications, and non-staffed facilities as well as Personal Training, Group Exercise and Massage Therapy programs at remote locations. This includes hiring, supervision, and training staff (Group Exercise Instructors, Personal Trainers, and Massage Therapists).

  • Lead onsite staff and collaborate with site leadership on program initiatives.

  • Coordinate Internship program; hire, supervise and train interns throughout their internship.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in health promotion, exercise physiology, health education, or related field.

  • A minimum of one year of industry experience.

  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED or BLS certification from the Red Cross or AHA is required.

  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.

  • Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription if applicable.

Preferred:

  • Group Exercise class recognized industry certification preferred; experience instructing a variety of group exercise formats is strongly preferred.

  • Personal Training industry certification (ACE, AFAA, NSCA, NASM, ACSM) preferred.
