What we’re looking for…

A Project Controls Specialist Intern who will be responsible for preparing estimates and schedules for facilities, shows, and rides as well as preform other planning and cost controls related tasks. This individual will work under the immediate direction of the Project Estimator and the Project Planner.

Responsibilities : You will…

  • Assist in preparing estimates by calculating complete takeoffs of a project scope of work and applying historical cost data

  • Assist in development of scope, strategy, and estimate documents to develop design and/or production schedules

  • Assist in contract management, change management, budget management and risk management by maintaining associated document files and logs along with drafting and executing cost controls system documentation

  • Assist in updating near term schedules and coordinating project activities

  • Collect costs in a format that supports historical comparisons

  • Produce ad hoc schedule and estimate reports as required to support project and functional management reporting needs

  • Work with project team members as required to collect and assemble information

  • Maintain files for all working documents and data as back up

Basic Qualifications :

What you bring to the role…

  • Knowledge of engineering/construction

  • Knowledge of estimating/cost controls and scheduling/planning

  • Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems

  • Proficiency in PC programs (MS Office Suite)

  • Understanding of earned value

  • Understanding of CPM scheduling including logic relationships and float analysis

  • Ability to read design drawings

  • Ability to work successfully with all levels of management, all project team members (project management, contractors, sub-contractors etc.) to achieve team goals

  • Well organized

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Relevant project controls experience

  • Knowledge and ability to use graphic programs highly desired (Adobe Acrobat, Blue Beam, CAD, Photoshop, Etc.)

  • Hands on Primavera and/or computer scheduling experience

  • Active membership in industry related organizations

Required Education :

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, or must have graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring Construction Management/Engineering, Architecture or Engineering.

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months of the start date of the internship for which you are applying for OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Must provide full work availability

  • Must provide own transportation to/from work

  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
