DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: We are currently hiring a full-time position for a Structural Packaging Designer at our Olympia, WA location. The Structural Packaging Designer is a service provider to GP Sales, GP Production and external customers. The Structural Packaging Designer will be creating drawings and specifications for new structural packaging components working with internal and external customers. A Day In The Life Typically Includes: * Developing corrugated design solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations * Visiting customers with and without Sales representatives present * Lead and assist in gathering accurate end user information - leading to a final corrugated design that satisfies the external and internal customer needs * Lead and assist in investigating automated machine equipment issues - design corrugated solutions around automated machine limitations * Identifying margin improvement opportunities for the Regional Sales Manager and Pricing Manager * Know and challenge the limits of our converting equipment * Support Sales, Customer Service and Converting in processing new item orders to ensure all new tooling meets expectations * Managing two vendors What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications: * Work or internship experience in structural packaging design * Work or internship experience with CAD detailing systems * Experience with Microsoft Office (Ex. Excel skills must include ability to add columns, delete columns, sorting, formatting cells, etc.) What Will Put You Ahead? Preferred Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree or higher in industrial design, architecture or engineering * At least three years of experience in Corrugated Packaging design * At least three years of experience using Artios Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
