The Drilling Services group is looking for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join our team, responsible for rolling out a set of new drilling services. This will be a unique opportunity to join a cross discipline team working with state of the art technologies in the energy development industry.
Evaluate system and component performance in their application. Monitor for reliability and durability trends.
Perform failure investigation and root cause analysis for downhole drilling and evaluation tools. Write reports to summarize results and communicate lessons learned.
Optimize design concepts to meet performance/reliability requirements and cost targets utilizing advanced simulation tools for functional as well as survivability evaluation, with focus on design for operation and design for maintenance. Collaborate closely with Product Development, Sustaining, Central Reliability, Regional Reliability, Operations, Supply Chain, and AMO teams.
Contribute to development of test plans and collaborate on execution of tests at a system level or component level. Complete documentation and change management processes for product enhancements.
Ensure successful introduction of modifications to the fleet.
Collect financial data and analyze AMO costs.
Analyze AMO workflows and collaborate with AMO team to implement cost reduction strategies and reduce idle equipment waiting on maintenance.
Support Firmware and Electrical Reliability Engineers.
Above-average university degree (FH, University, TU).
Technical experience with the Transformer Platform
Advanced technical skills including experience in the utilization of Finite Element Analysis tools in a design & build environment.
Experience with SolidWorks CAD System, both 3-D modelling and 2D drafting.
Demonstrated advanced problem solving skills with respect to Applied Mechanics, Engineering Design, Technology Development, and Process Improvement.
Self-contained, self-motivated and structured to work within a worldwide functioning interdisciplinary team.
Understanding of manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated strong ability to develop within a technical mentoring environment as well as to work independently.
Good written and verbal English skills.
Practical experience in the above-mentioned area of expertise gathered during internships, thesis and/or professional experience.
Experience in development of Drilling Systems Services.
