SERVICE ALTERNATIVES WorkFirst Case Manager in Oak Harbor, Washington

The Work First Case Manager is responsible for managing and transitioning individuals who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) into subsidized internships and ultimately unsubsidized paid employment. This position requires a high level of accountability, responsibility, integrity and communication. This position is based out of our Oak Harbor and Everett Offices. Core position responsibilities include : * Provide structured accountability and monitoring to program participants with DSHS and Community Jobs program plans, and development and monitoring of employment-related skills (attendance, punctuality and skill progression). * Provide intensive case management to participants to meet their program expectations. * Encourage, support, guide and empower individuals to overcome barriers to employment. * Seek out and develop non-profit work site opportunities within the Island County (central and south) communities. * Facilitate participant resume/job search workshops and classes. * Facilitate and report on weekly life skills classes. * Obtain unsubsidized employment outcomes that meet or exceed State and Federal contract performance standards. Other key functions of the position: * The ability to work with a small close-knit team in a supportive and collaborative way. * Managing a caseload of participants with a multitude of personal complexities and barriers to employment. * Exhibit an outstanding professional work ethic and high-level communication. Required Skills: Experience facilitating small groups/classes. High level customer service experience. Strong personal/professional boundaries. High level communication, prioritization and time management skills. Ability to work independently without supervision. Preferred Skills: Experience working with people in crisis. Previous supervisory or case management experience. Knowledge of DSHS/TANF programs. Experience in employment related services. Knowledge of housing, justice involved and/or family community resources.
