Due to our Firms continuous growth, we are looking for an InCharge Accountant to provide timely, accurate and reliable completion of client engagements, while ensuring delivery is consistent with principal/partner and client expectations. This role requires the ability to work in a changeable client-service environment and to create raving fans of our clients by asking the right questions, being effective listeners and communicators, and providing creative solutions through targeted resources and technical expertise.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Overall successful completion of client engagements including but not limited to compilations, reviews, and tax compliance.

  • Develop understanding of client’s business and aspects of client’s industry.

  • Prepare clear and concise working papers and financial statements.

  • Generate reports which identify and address areas of significant risk and evaluate overall effectiveness of operations.

  • Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.

  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Assist with development and retention of clients, including the ability to cross-sell services.

  • Focus on tax planning in an effort to minimize client tax and present ongoing tax savings opportunities to clients.

  • Assist clients with special projects such as budgeting and cash flow projections, tax planning and sales tax.

  • Prepare complex corporate, individual and partnership tax returns.

  • Research complex tax issues and develop resolutions.

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.

  • Deliver projects/engagements on time, within budget and to client's satisfaction.

  • Supervise and mentor junior staff inclusive of oversight on client engagements and providing evaluative feedback.

  • Prepare complex client correspondence including recommendations, technical issues, and responses to taxing authorities.

  • Ability to work independently on bookkeeping and account reconciliations both in the office and at client locations.

  • Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations.

  • Perform month end closings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and progress towards 150 credit hours needed to qualify for CPA

  • CPA certification or progress towards completion

  • 2+ year of accounting / tax experience including internship experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours at peak client service delivery times

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

HOURS OF OPERATION:

  • Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday.

  • The ability to work additional hours during busy season is critical, but the rest of the year, flexibility is key.
