As a Colgate Finance intern, you will be exposed to meaningful project work and will receive significant exposure to Senior Management and our overall business.

This internship offers an opportunity to work in the Corporate Financial Reporting group at Colgate-Palmolive. It will enhance the candidate’s knowledge of core Financial Reporting functions, particularly the preparation and analysis of a wide variety of financial and other reports including quarterly SEC filings, the annual report, and the proxy statement. In addition, the candidate will gain experience in performing a wide range of duties while working cross functionally within the broader Colgate Global Finance organization.

Specific responsibilities include:

External Reporting:

  • Quarterly Reporting - preparation of footnotes

  • S&I Plan Financials (11K) preparation

  • Retiree Medical, VEBA and ERIP Financials

  • XBRL Tagging and Review

Ongoing Technical Accounting

  • Support Pension and Stock Comp Accounting

  • Support on Goodwill Impairment Assessment

New Technical Accounting

  • Support New Lease / Revenue Recognition

Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to details

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)

  • Focus on process improvement and implementation of best practices

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Google Suite

  • Working knowledge of SAP a plus

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Currently enrolled as a first year MBA or Masters student

  • Prior experience in finance

  • Candidate must have a distinguished academic achievement (must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher)
