Yale University ITS, Early Career Development Intern in New Haven, Connecticut

Position Focus:

Under the guidance of Yale’s information technology leadership, participate in an Early Career Development Program targeting local college graduates interested in careers in information technology. Consisting of three 6-month rotations beginning in July, the program will give participants the opportunity to work on numerous technical and business disciplines. A variety of roles are available, including: Developers, System Administrators, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Change Management Specialists, Student Support Managers, Technology Support technicians, Information Security Technologists.

Yale Information Technology Services (ITS) is a technology organization committed to the University's educational mission by providing innovative technology such as reliable infrastructure services, high-performance computing, web development, mobile technologies development, academic instructional technology, project management, and network security. We are looking for some enthusiastic, think-outside-the-box interns to help us.

Rotations are available in various IT disciplines, e.g. system administration, web and application development, business analysis, network engineering, project management, change management, support management and information security.

Candidate must be a recent college graduate. ITS will be hiring Early Career Development Program Participants, with a target start date of July 1, 2019.

Essential Duties
  1. Duties will be dependent of the nature of the internship. The assignment may occur in any one of the following specialty areas: Administration, Athletics, Business Operations, Clinical, Communications, Editing & Teaching, Computing and Information Systems, Development, Dining, Facilities, Financial, Human Resources, Library, Museums, Research Support, Service, Safety & Security, Student Services. 2. Receives training on procedures through training sessions and shadowing appointments. 3. Develops and delivers programs. 4. Observes sessions with experienced advisers. 5. Writes and edits materials. 6. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Knowledge of or strong interest in technology related skills such as Business Analysis, QA Testing, Infrastructure Services, Web Development, High-Performance Computing, Mobile Technologies, System Administration, Business Intelligence, Information and Network Security.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work with key stakeholders.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Demonstrated interest in new technologies, e.g. web, mobile apps, collaboration tools.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Proven presentation skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
