Position Information

Position Summary

The Coordinator of Program Assessment and Evaluation oversees the continuous development and improvement of all academic programs in the College of Science and Engineering (CSE). Specifically, the individual works with program faculty to coordinate all assessment systems in CSE to assure compliance with university policies (i.e. Student Learning Outcomes Policy) and external accreditation requirements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree Experience in program evaluation and assessment. Experience in statistics, data management, and analysis or related field. Experience with learning communities or team-based approach to program improvement. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience with inputting, organizing, and reporting assessment data in software systems (e.g. Weave, Taskstream, Campus Labs, etc.) Experience communicating timelines and actions planning to address potential challenges hindering data collection. Strong background in training and professional development related to programs evaluation or assessment planning.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years’ experience in program evaluation and assessment. Experience in drafting program reviews and self-study document for program accreditation. Experience with curriculum mapping and aligning learning outcomes. Experience with cognitive domains such as Bloom’s Taxonomy and writing learning outcomes/course objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Supports faculty members on the development of program assessment rubrics and analysis of assessment results. Administers, maintains, and provides training for software solutions used to document and facilitate assessment and continuous improvement (e.g., Weave). Assists faculty members in drafting program self-study documents for external accreditation. Assists faculty members with academic program reviews. Assists in the completion of research and evaluation studies through data collection, data analysis, and report writing. Coordinates and oversee data collection schedules in partnership with faculty members. Ensures program outcomes and accreditation standards are aligned with course objectives through systems such as curriculum mapping. Supports the college in the development of surveys, questionnaires, and interview protocols. Coordinates with Office of Institutional Research’s to report annual program enrollment data to external organizations (e.g., ASEE). Serves as the college liaison to communicate information to other university constituencies affecting student learning, program improvement, and accreditation.
