Title: Industrial Engineer - 48921

Your Responsibilities

As an Industrial Engineer for World Wide Parts, you will be a team member of the WW Parts Engineering team supporting warehouse storage and picking operations. You will strive to improve performance in safety, quality and productivity through the development and implementation of improved warehouse processes. Additionally, you will:

  • Champion engineering aspects in support of employee continuous improvement team(s)

  • Provide detailed analysis related to warehousing functions including optimization of material receipt, storage, picking, and shipping to define project opportunities and priorities

  • Design warehouse layouts and storage solutions that align with facility operational requirements

  • Be responsible for special project work including: process and/or equipment design, make vs. buy analyses, cost/benefit evaluation of capital investment projects and cycle time analysis

  • Develop and maintain Operator Method Sheets for the current method of manufacturing

  • Perform time-studies, calculate and post output standards, revise CIPP bases as appropriate, answer Union standards/base questions, and resolve issues

What Skills You Need

  • 1 or more years of experience with internships focused on shop floor manufacturing or distribution systems, incentive pay systems such as CIPP and work measurement

  • Experience innovating and implementing process improvements, focusing on improving business results in safety, quality and productivity

  • Experience using teamwork skills in resolving problems, discussing issues, and communicating potential solutions and results to wage employees, engineering colleagues and management

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables), and IT tools or programming languages, including, QLIK, SQL and SAS

  • Ability to work limited flexible hours to support business operations as needed

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Experience working with incentive pay systems, especially gainsharing programs such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan)

  • Experience using Root Cause Analysis tools

  • Experience working with warehouse distribution systems

  • Experience working in a union environment

  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD for layouts

  • Experience with equipment and tool specifications/design, as well as quality plans to support production/warehouse processes and increase productivity

  • Experience in designing operation layouts to improve material flow and material presentation

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • 4 year engineering or technical degree
