Mission Support and Test Services, LLC Engineering Internship (Associate in Engineering) in Mercury, Nevada


  • Completion of the first year of an engineering degree program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The declared degree must pertain to the organizational unit to which the individual will be assigned. Applicant must be actively enrolled in school.

  • Have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on 4.0 scale

  • Must possess planning/organizing skills and initiative

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience using standard office software products is preferred

  • Basic knowledge of engineering equipment, software, systems, calculations, and applications of engineering methods

  • Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Must possess an appropriate valid driver’s license

  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical system field support for a variety of short-term projects (includes, but is not limited to, data acquisition, recording, control and checklists, and other documentation)

  • Candidate will utilize skills in Mathematics, Chemistry, English, Calculus, Physics and/or introductory engineering courses

  • Provide basic MS Office skills needed to assist Engineering Staff

  • Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers/technicians in obtaining technical information and discovering better methods of operation

  • Make field investigations by performing walk downs of drawings/documents using established methods

  • Stay abreast of current national standards, codes and develop input data for procedures to perform maintenance or operations
