Job Description

GEICO seeks a Managing Attorney for its Marlton, New Jersey Staff Counsel Office, which defends GEICO insureds in third party cases and GEICO in first party cases in the Marlton area. This office also handles PIP cases as well as some subrogation matters for GEICO.

The Managing Attorney is responsible for litigation oversight, including new case evaluations and assignments, internal quality audits, trial strategies, and final review of all cases designated for trial and all other aspects of management responsibilities including but not limited to managing the office administration and operations, budget and planning, as well as staffing and performance evaluations.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • New Jersey Bar membership in good standing

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in personal injury litigation, New Jersey experience preferred.

  • Must be able to travel as required, including but not limited to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

  • Must demonstrate successful performance in handling trial responsibility for cases of high severity and complexity

  • Experience handling motor vehicle cases required. Experience handling PIP cases preferred.

  • Extensive jury trial and verdict experience

  • Insurance defense experience strongly desired

  • Prior staff management experience preferred

  • Strong communication and MS Office skills

Grade and salary for this position commensurate with experience level.
