Position Title: JET InternInternationalTax

Position Summary

TheJetBlue Emerging Talent (JET) internship program provides skill & professional development through participation inthedevelopingofreal-world business solutions that support the delivery of strategic business initiatives. Throughout the program, interns participate in a robust programming including professional development activities, cross-functional projects, senior leader exposure, networking, and community service. The JET Program provides interns the opportunity to immerse themselves into the aviation industry while developing specific career interestsor areas of study. 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for placement within our Corporate Tax team. This team is primarily responsible for accounting, compliance, research and planning for JetBlue’s U.S. and foreign taxes (excluding payroll).The Internwill have an opportunity to work with and assist JetBlueCrewmemberson a variety of corporateinternationaltax matters.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing income, value-added, withholding,and various miscellaneousforeigntax filings

  • Prepare and remit tax payments

  • Assist withtax budgetsandforecasts

  • Prepare tax accruals and analyze and reconcile general ledger tax accounts

  • Maintain the tax calendarand meetfilingand monthly financial reportingdue dates

  • Assist with audits by tax authorities and internal/external financial audits

  • Assist withdesign and implementation ofprocess improvements

  • Ensure appropriate documentation and internal controls are maintained

  • Assist withresearch to support tax compliance and planning

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Currently enrolledundergraduateorrecentgraduate with a major inAccounting,Business orfinancerelated field

  • Proficient with MicrosoftExcel

  • Results oriented and confident

  • Stronginterpersonal,written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability tobe flexible,multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • Available to work 30-40 hours per week

  • Abilityto workindependently and in a team environment

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better

  • Experiencewith tax research tools (CCH Online) and online publications

  • Experience withfinancial reporting systems

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote Equipment:

  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment

  • Present for core business hours with the ability to work overtime, including occasional weekend days, as the need arises, especially to meet monthly/quarterly tax filing as well as financial reporting deadlines
