SC Department of Public Safety Human Services Coordinator I (Mental Health Counselor II) Laurens School-Based in Laurens County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

The Department of Mental Health is a drug-free workplace. All candidates will be required to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test.

This position is located with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services. This posting is for a school-based vacancy in Laurens School District 55 and will serve Hickory Tavern and Gray Court-Owings Elementary and Middle Schools.

Under general supervision, provides treatment services to children, adolescents and their families. Mental health services will be provided in a culturally competent manner, which will include but not be limited to, assessment, crisis management, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Requirements: A bachelor's degree and professional experience in human services or social services programs.

Agency Requirements: A master's degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences and one year's experience (excluding internships) is required to be considered for this position.
