Merck for Mothers (MfM) is a 10 year commitment to reduce maternal mortality globally. Working in partnership with leaders in the maternal health field, Merck is committing our expertise, our employees and our financial resources to help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3). The incumbent supports the activities of the Merck for Mothers team including responsibilities related to:

  • Execution of grant agreements to support countryprograms and Global Giving program

  • Review proposal documents to ensure alignmentwith policies and procedures

  • Draft grant agreements based on projectdocuments

  • Liaise with program partners to secure documentsneeded to finalize grant agreements

  • Implementation of country programs and GlobalGiving program

  • Management of data collection processes tosupport program compliance requirements

  • Financial reconciliation and budget oversightfor assigned agreements

  • Execution and management of consultingagreements for assigned projects

  • Support for meeting preparations,communications, and reporting: organize team meetings, develop agenda, writesummaries

  • Draft/review routine program reports; developtalking points, web site content and presentations

  • Maintain repository of information related toMerck for Mothers programs

This is a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.

Education:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master's or Bachelor's program and must have completed 2 years of college education.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) weeks beginning in May or June of 2019.

  • Candidates must have experience in public health, international development, public policy, or corporate responsibility.

  • Candidates must have excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities.

  • Candidates must have exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and problem solving skills with a high degree of diplomacy and teamwork needed.

  • Candidates must be able to work collaboratively while also exercising independent, good judgment with limited supervision.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates with or working towards their MPH are preferred.
