This team is responsible for all SG&A (Expense) Accounting functions related to the OptumRx (PBM) segment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports

  • Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close

  • Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

  • Coordination of workflow for discount card commissions, including research, tracking, calculation, accrual and payment of discount card commissions

  • Coordination of workflow for UMR broker fees, including research, tracking, calculation, accrual and payment of UMR broker fees

  • Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits

  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation

  • Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues

  • Serve as a resource to others

  • Owning and coordinating the monthly prepaid expense process for OptumRx, including researching expense items for reclass, monthly amortization and maintaining schedules.

  • Responsible for SG&A monthly accrual and expense re-classes

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

  • 1+ years of professional accounting or Internship experience

  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements

  • Experience assessing and interpreting customer needs and requirements

  • Proficiency with MS Excel
