We are currently seeking an Engineering intern candidate to support our construction operations, specifically the Commissioning and Startup (C&SU) team. Commissioning is the process of testing and certification of equipment to validate readiness for startup. Startup is the initial operation of new facilities to demonstrate that each process meets the intent of the design and specification. Commissioning and startup is the final stage of transition from construction to facility operation.

It’s an opportunity to build relationships with experts by learning from respected figures in the industry, and be placed in a program that can help students connect their studies into a new context, the business environment. Internship opportunities are available at our project sites in Hillsboro, Oregon.
This is an excellent role for someone who wants to understand Civil/Environmental Engineering and Construction Management and the big picture of things. We truly give hands-on experience to understand more about the industry. They will be expected to help drive the efforts and be involved with all aspects of the company.
Responsibilities of this position include the following:
1.\tAssist C&SU team with various project tasks, including researching, compiling and evaluating project data, preparing reports and performing calculations for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
2.\tPerforming simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to design and cross-training
3.\tPerforming research and contacting vendors for information
4.\tAssisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports
5.\tProcess Submittals and RFIs.
6.\tUpdate working drawings with RFIs and Changes. Keep this set up to date to ensure the team is working with the most current information.
7.\tComply with company policies and procedures.
8.\tWork in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
Commissioning and Startup - Engineering Intern
•\tIn progress toward earning a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical (Control Systems) Engineering or related degree with a minimum of 2 years of undergraduate coursework in college.
•\tSpecific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following: - Planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater infrastructure - Environmental Water/wastewater treatment processes- Advanced and emerging technologies
•\tStrong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
•\tAbility to multi-task and follow priorities.
•\tSelf-starter with the desire to learn advanced wastewater processes, plant operations, and project controls skills.
•\tDetail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•\tExperienced with complete Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with CAD software, Blu
•\tAnticipated work hours 40 through the summer semester,

Intern candidates eligible to apply must be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program. New college graduates are not eligible for internships at MWHC, however, MWHC does hire recent graduates as well as alum.
