The intern will shadow Relay For Life Community Manager and Distinguished Events Development manager, including attending after hours meetings and events. The intern will not have a set or pre-determined work load, but may assist with set up or take down events, participate in meetings, and/or work with volunteers depending on the situation. The main focus of the internship will be to provide opportunities for the intern to learn organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, how to communicate with a large group vs. one on one, how to communicate and work with volunteers, how to prepare and present corporate/public presentations, how to organize and plan meetings, how to track weekly progress, how to manage and build relationships with corporations, sponsors, and teams. They will learn ACS mission and be able to speak clearly about ACS in detail, how to plan and manage special events, how to work and communicate in an office setting with co-workers and supervisor, depending on experience, they may learn new or increase knowledge of business technology. This is an unpaid internship opportunity.

• Full time student

• 3.0 GPA minimum

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

• Senior equivalent

• 35-40 hours a week

• Nonpaid internship, school credit eligible

All Interns Must meet the following requirements:

  • Full-time student, If you are an undergraduate student you have completed your freshman year of college;

  • Plan to continue their education in the following term/semester

  • Note: an internship assignment may coincide with the student’s last term/trimester, but student must disengage upon graduation.

  • Two references from academic/professional sources addressing the student’s credentials based on the internship’s skill requirements

  • Recent transcript attesting to their GPA and standing as a full-time student

  • Unpaid interns must also provide documentation of the participation in a bona-fide college intern program under which their ACS internship either qualifies them to receive course credit OR fulfills a graduation/coursework requirement.
