Intern Student Engineering-Customer Experience
Indiana Michigan Power Company is seeking a summer intern who has completed their sophomore year of study, has a cumulative college grade point average of 3.5 or better and able to work 40 hrs. per week May thru August 2019. The intern will be responsible for delivering a project tor I&M executives at the end of the internship. Mentors within I&M will work with the student and supervise the assignment projects.

The selected candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, technical aptitude, passion for the energy industry and ability to successfully engage with business owners and maintenance engineers as required, to successfully complete the assigned project. During your internship, you will be working on a cross functional team project that involves various aspects of the Electric Utility Business. Previous Intern projects involved developing a plan for a micro grid and calculating the benefits for not only our customers, but the electric grid. You will be able to utilize engineering and scientific principles to perform technical and analytical studies. Provide assistance on projects that involve planning, application of equipment, construction, operation and maintenance of electric power system facilities.

Professional Engineering development that spans many industrial customers
Perform calculations and detailed engineering studies using scientific calculations and the computer system.
Conduct computer simulation studies.
Visit System and supplier facilities for inspections and tests.
Prepare memoranda, reports and make presentations to I&M’s executive leadership team.
Become familiar with Company organization, departmental functional responsibilities, and group interrelationships.
