Tax Intern

Internship in Conduent Tax department

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain general knowledge of and understand Conduent business and tax methodologies

  • Prepare excel schedules, charts and graphs, as assigned

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations

  • Investigate tax notices/issues, as required

  • Interface with EVP of Tax as well as other members of finance function and business units

  • Provide administrative support, as required

  • Ad hoc projects; e.g. tax modeling exercises, etc.

  • Support Tax group, as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

LEVEL OF EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree in taxation or finance.

  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word or any tax software a plus.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Understand major steps in tax compliance and accounting process

  • Ability to learn and implement continuous process improvements

  • Understanding of the impact of income taxes on the financial statements and of opportunities to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business results

ENABLING COMPETENCIES

  • Good interpersonal skills, including ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with others throughout Conduent Tax, Finance, and Business Units

  • Self motivated, able to work independently and under pressure

  • Ability to motivate others to work towards established deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
