Club Car LLC, a strategic business unit of Ingersoll Rand, has built a proud heritage of product excellence as the world’s largest small vehicle manufacturer. Headquartered in Augusta, Georgia with distribution spanning the globe, Club Car is pleased to announce the following supply chain internship opportunity.

Selected interns will complete a 3 to 6 month assignment supporting one of three supply chain focus areas:

  • Material Flow & Warehouse Management
  • Material Planning
  • Production Scheduling & Inventory Control

In the assigned position, selected interns receive day to day direction from the functional manager while receiving ongoing mentoring from functional partners and the supply chain director. In addition to gaining hands on experience in the assigned function, selected interns assume project management responsibility for improvement opportunities previously identified to enable progress in the assigned area. Examples of project assignments providing the opportunity to apply technical supply chain tools to an improvement project include:

  • In-bound Logistics Optimization– includes the design and implementation of material delivery routes (milk runs) to enable consistent material delivery cadence while maximizing the efficiency of equipment and personnel.
  • JIT / Pull System Supplier Replenishment– using 9-step problem solving, analyze demand and align supply to minimize material footprint and inventory while improving material presentation and hand-offs to minimize material disruptions.
  • Supermarket Inventory– analyze usage patterns and stocking requirements to identify Kan-Ban replenishment container quantity as well as quantity of containers to improve inventory management.
  • Technical Purchasing– analyze inventory and usage patterns to establish business operating system (BOS) buy signals and inventory alerts. Design automated and manual test methods to audit signals within the system.
  • Demand Analyst– utilizing 9-step problem solving, analyze current and design future state, complete gap analysis to develop recommendations for demand cost adjustments based on historical demand and or new product requirements.
  • Product Customization– support product customization via technical sourcing of low volume and/or discontinued parts, develop and document processes to enable same/similar part search as required to satisfy customer demand.

Under the direction of the supply chain director and in partnership with their functional group partner, selected interns will also examine existing supply chain processes to identify and recommend additional change processes.

Requirements & Success Factors:

  • Sophomore or above pursuing Supply Chain Management curriculum
  • Overall 2.8 GPA or above
  • Demonstrated leadership skills(minimum of one example in the last four years such as: school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership of work projects)
  • Learning agility – able to understand and refine project business improvement opportunities, apply logic and problem solving tools to maximize outcomes.
  • Intellectual curiosity – demonstrated history/example of clever observations coupled with a willingness to propose innovative solutions to business opportunities.
  • Work ethic – previous work experience demonstrating a consistent work pace and persistence to achieve desired outcomes.
