This position provides opportunities to work with various areas of leadership where interns will be exposed to administrative functions throughout the hospitals and clinics of Northwest Wisconsin. Each intern will be paired with an organizational leader and have opportunities to be exposed to a number of areas, which could include inpatient operations, emergency medicine, medical surgical specialties, and primary care, but are customizable to individual interests. Internship project work may focus on project management, data/process analysis, observations, benchmarking, and a final presentation around changes to clinical or ancillary services. The selected individual should share Mayo Clinic’s core values and project a professional image.
The primary purpose of the Graduate Internship is to provide an intern with relevant field experiences in their chosen field of study. One or more mentors will be assigned to the intern to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. The intern is responsible for observing the functions and processes of the assigned work unit. In addition, the intern may be given selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience, to assess the performance levels and to provide benefit to the work unit. The intern will be responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo and the participating educational facility. The duration and timing of the internship will be arranged with the intern.
The incumbent must be enrolled in a masters or graduate degree program from a college or university. Typically, this internship would occur after the student has taken most of the courses required by the graduate degree program.
Where applicable - the degree program must require an internship as a graduation requirement (or offer as a credit option.

This position has a predetermined rate of $15.50 per hour.
Hours / Pay period
Intern will fill this position for ten to twelve weeks, dependent on availability and work unit needs.
