Title: Electrical Systems Engineer (Entry-Level) - 42759

Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Systems Engineer, for the John Deere Global Crop Harvesting Product Development Center (Silvis, IL), you will develop new electrical systems and subsystems for the Combine Harvester. In addition, you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to design electrical subsystems.

  • Manage combine vehicle and front end equipment electrical subsystem requirements.

  • Create subsystem and component specifications.

  • Work with suppliers to define electrical component designs.

  • Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality, and supply management organizations.

  • Compile necessary information for documenting engineering design solutions.

  • Collaborate with PV&V to develop test or analysis plans for electrical subsystems and components.

  • Investigate root cause and solve field and customer issues.

What Skills You Need

  • Engineering experience gained from relevant internships, educational projects or work experience.

  • Experience working in a team-based environment and collaborating on problem solving.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Understanding of engineering principles and engineering problem solving methods.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with embedded software and hardware development.

  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles.

  • Experience in giving presentations and explaining complex engineering issues / solutions.

  • Experience with J1939 CAN communication protocol and using CAN logging tools (CANalyzer, CANsniff etc.)

  • Experience with computer-aided design and engineering tools, such as Matlab and Windchill.

  • Experience with model based software development

  • Fundamental understanding of combines and harvesting equipment.

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
