Basic Purpose- With direct supervision and oversight, the intern position provides exposure and opportunity to investigate a career, gain business knowledge and practical application of a specific function within the healthcare industry.
Centene Summer Internship Program provides a forum for students to apply classroom skills and academic training in a real world business environment. In addition to being assigned business-impacting projects throughout the summer, students will be matched with a manager who will meet with them on a regular basis to provide direction on assignments.
Your Intern experience may include:
Work closely with financial planning analysts across the team to gain perspective into Corporate Finance and Accounting roles and responsibilities.
Attend budget meetings and gather information that will be used to update the financial forecast.
Assist in researching variances between forecast and actual financial results during close.
Run financial and accounting reports and analyze the results.
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university or college, preferably in a field related to the hiring department through the internship period.
Active involvement in Accounting or Finance club, student group, or business fraternity/sorority.
Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations.
Excellent organizational & multi-tasking skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work well in team environment.
