GEICO currently has an opening for a Lead Information Systems Analyst in our Finance area. The position, located in Chevy Chase, MD, provides the opportunity to work on new and exciting system initiatives in support of financial planning and forecasting. The lead role will be responsible for project organization and management tasks, as well as the coordination of key system design decisions, in collaboration with a team of highly skilled IT professionals.


  • Executing, coordinatingand/or managing all aspects of the systems development life cycle. This could include requirementsgathering, analysis, design, testing, and/or creating and executingdetailed test plans

  • Leading, coaching anddeveloping analysts.(Proven leadershipqualifications are essential.)

  • Ability to communicatewith associates and management at all levels of the organization,including the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to meet projecttimelines and deliverables.

  • Ability to develop recommendationsto improve processes and/or application systems

  • Developing project plans;proficiency with Microsoft Project and the ability to mentor others on theskill of developing and monitoring detail project plans.

Position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree inaccounting or information systems (or equivalent degree with relevantexperience)

  • Strong leadership andpersonnel management skills, including the ability to lead and managemultiple system projects at one time

  • Strong analytical,organizational, interpersonal, time management and communication (bothverbal and written) skills

  • Extensive projectmanagement experience with systems related projects

  • Strong understanding ofPlanning and Budgeting processes, Financial Systems and/or Finance activitiesat large financial services institutions.

  • Strong understanding ofFinancial Forecasting, including statistical models and identification ofcost drivers to support the forecast

  • Ability to work in ademanding, fast-paced environment will be necessary to succeed in thisposition.
