Description

Today, the opportunities for growth across Nike’s business portfolio offer more potential than ever. Nike Finance employees play a key role in that progress by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to drive value for every Nike shareholder. They manage accounting and reporting for Nike’s multi-billion-dollar global investment portfolio, debt and equity instruments, and other Treasury activities. They strategize, forecast, audit, analyze, budget, research and lead important decisions. Across Nike’s diverse geographies and businesses, Finance employees deliver far more than just the numbers.

As our Finance Manager, you'll participate in functional discussions and initiatives across departments and provide input into business unit planning. You'll develop internal and/or external partnerships that leverage resources and improve business unit responsiveness; prepare and distribute timely and insightful financial analysis of pertinent information to determine progress against strategic plan, budget, forecast, and to support external financial decisions. You'll actively interpret and review financial results with business managers, including trends/issues and opportunities, to drive actionable responses.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Perform analysis that aids in the decision making processand helps improve profitability as well as on new business opportunities, whichinclude scenario and investment analysis.

  • Monitor monthly progress against budgets/targets and workwith managers to ensure accountability; monitor that working capital isefficiently and effectively being used.

  • Develop and monitor metrics focused on P&L, balancesheet, and free cash flow.

  • Participate in the strategic and business planning processfrom a financial perspective; generate budgets that incorporate strategicbusiness plan objectives and incorporate appropriate assumptions.

  • Execute the monthly forecasting process for assigneddivision, category, gender group, or cost center. In addition, you'll do allthis together with a senior financial analyst reporting to you.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a preferred discipline in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree (with a concentration on Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field) with an expected graduation date of Winter 2019 or Spring 2020

  • 4+ years' experience in financial reporting, financial planning, strategic planning and/or annual budgeting

  • 2 years' additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Advanced level degree or accounting certification may be considered in lieu of 1 year experience

  • Attention to detail in the development of management quality reporting and analytics for executive-level personnel

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a large organization

  • Proven strong financial analysis skills; technical corporate finance, accounting, and valuation skills

  • Superior written and oral presentation skills; ability to communicate and present to senior management

  • Strong proficiency with financial analysis tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Proven ability to problem solve

  • Attention to detail in the development of management quality reporting and analytics for senior management

  • Ability to pass a 7 year background check

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • CFA, CPA or CMA is strongly preferred

  • Experience in a Fortune 500 consumer products or other multi-national firm

  • Experience in investment banking, management consulting, or financial planning and analysis
