Kforce Editorial Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland

Kforce has a client in search of an Editorial Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland (MD). This is a potential temp to hire position.Summary: The Editorial Assistant primarily supports two Acquisitions Editors, but may be asked to support other AEs and members of the team. The Editorial Assistant coordinates activities related to the Editors' goals including reviewing, proposing, acquiring, contracting, and publishing products along with performing various administrative tasks. The Editorial Assistant's primary responsibilities include:

  • Assistance with the Publishing Committee/Proposal Process

  • Managing the Peer Review Process

  • Drafting surveys/questionnaires

  • Recruiting faculty and student reviewers

  • Maintaining reviewer database

  • Ensuring reviews are completed

  • Providing summary review reports

  • Compensating reviewers

  • Entering of information into proprietary title management systems

  • Collation and distribution of materials (and any revisions required) for Publishing Committee

  • Running sales and opportunity/adoption reports and conducting other research as required

  • Assistance with Contract Process for both Authors and Contributors

  • Generating and distributing contracts including title contracts, grants, advance addendums

  • Submitting contract for approval and tracking approval

  • Routing and tracking of contract for author and publisher signing

  • Completing royalty instruction forms

  • Publishing Support

  • Recruitment of manuscript review board, assisting with review process during development cycle as requested

  • Assistance with organizing focus groups and recruiting participants

  • Processing of payments

  • Placing orders for products, etc. for team and authors

  • Market Development Support - master target list updating, tracking and administering leads, other activities as requested

  • Administrative Support

  • Assisting acquisitions editors as directed

  • Copying, filing, mailing, etc. as requested

  • BA/BS degree; If no degree, 3 years of office work experience

  • At least 1 year of office work or internships
