Facebook Online Safety team is seeking an intern to help increase safety for people who use Facebook. The ideal candidate would be passionate about protecting the most vulnerable populations who use our platform, and committed to making the world a safer place where people can be more open and connected. This position is located in Austin, TX.
Support Program and Partnerships to develop educational resources for vulnerable populations on Facebook
Work with relevant partners to localize and launch market-specific content
Work with relevant partners to gather new insights for safety-specific work
Work with Online Safety to package insights about safety-specific content for relevant teams
Gather, synthesize, and analyze relevant data to summarize the results of various campaigns
Address sensitive content issues, including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material.
Pursuing a Masters in relevant fields such as international studies, safety, public policy, human rights, or criminal justice
Time management, organizational skills and self-motivation
Communication skills and high attention to detail
Managing large projects with many stakeholders
Significant curiosity for understanding the safety risks teens face online, and willingness to understand new cultures
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship/co-op
Experience with Facebook advertising tools
Speaks a second language
Experience working with non-profits
