Primary Job Responsibilities:
Assist with preparing environmental documents and reports (EISs, EAs, CEs) in compliance with various environmental laws such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act, Section 4(f), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, etc.
May use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Collects and prepares data for evaluation.
Assisting in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.
Providing support to Planning staff members as needed
During the Fall 2018 Semester, candidates must be enrolled in at least their junior year within a Planning degree curriculum
GPA of at least a 3.0 is required
Must attending university within a daily commutable distance of Austin and able to work at least 15 hours per week
Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
One year of previous internship on planning projects is preferred
Previous experience of NEPA is preferred.
