The Diesel OBD Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing test plans, establishing goals / timelines, and communicating status of a project to completion. The Calibration Engineer will plan and coordinate day-to-day activities including interaction with technicians and support engineers. He/she will utilize structured problem solving methods to make data based hardware and calibration decisions. Evaluate new engine hardware and technology for compliance with diagnostic strategies. Analyze, plan, and solve complex system problems as they relate to diagnostic development. Manipulate and utilize large and complex sets of data. e. Actively participate in the development of diagnostic algorithms to address new requirements. Actively participate in the development of calibration processes and procedures. Participate in meetings with management, product design, and systems teams. Present summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments, including timing projections. This position combines multiple engineering disciplines to develop diesel hardware and calibrate the engine management system of engines produced by the company. The candidate should expect to travel 4-6 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification.Basic Qualifications:•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science; or equivalent from an ABET accredited university•Minimum of one year of experience with development and calibration of diesel engines, academic research, or a previous internship/co-op in a related field•Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills•Valid US driver’s license with an excellent driving record.Preferred Qualifications:•Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Master of Science in Computer Science from an ABET accredited university•Experience with diesel emissions and/or diesel OBD calibration•Hardware-in-the-loop development /verification•Database management of production calibrations•Experience in data acquisition and processing data MATLAB / SIMULINK experience•Working knowledge of engine analysis and calibration tools, emissions regulations, engine technologies and competitive products•Outstanding problem solving and analytical skillsOur benefits reflects the FCA commitment to helping you reach your personal and professional goals.
